Cambodian Senate Congratulates China for Successfully Launching ChinaSat 2A

Cambodian First Deputy President of the Senate H.E. Say Chhum on Monday congratulated China for successfully launching the ChinaSat 2A, a telecommunication satellite, on May 26.

H.E. Say Chhum expressed the congratulations during a meeting with visiting Vice-Chairman of the 11th National People’s Congress (NPC) Standing Committee of China, H.E. Lu Yongxiang.

In the meeting, H.E. Say Chhum reaffirmed Cambodia’s irreversible support to the One China Policy and expressed his deep thanks to China for its support to Cambodia’s candidacy as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the 2013-2014 mandates and to Cambodia’s membership of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in 2009.

H.E. Say Chhum also lauded the traditional ties of friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the two countries. “Cambodia has considered China as a good neighbor, good friend and trustworthy partner,” he underlined.

For his part, H.E. Lu Yongxiang expressed his satisfaction with the good relationship and cooperation between Cambodia and China, and congratulated H.E. Say Chhum for being elected as the First Deputy President of Senate.
