Condor flying to Siem Reap

German airline Condor will begin a weekly flight to Siem Reap on November 3 from Frankfurt, Minister of Tourism Thong Khon said yesterday.

Direct flights from the eurozone are a positive development for Cambodia’s tourism market, even though the ongoing crisis in Europe will probably hit the Cambodian tourism market in the future, he said.

Yangon, Myanmar, will also get a weekly flight from Frankfurt.

Condor will fly a Boeing 767-300, which is able to carry more than 200 passengers once a week to Cambodia’s historic Siem Reap province, he said.

Part of the Thomas Cook Group, Condor has been in operation since 1955 and serves 77 destinations around the world.

Cambodia’s tourism market attracts 73 per cent of visitors from the Asia Pacific region and about 18 per cent from the eurozone, with each region having its own high and low season.
