INDONESIA Tourism & Travel Fair (ITTF) was launched last weekend amid concern over its impact on the more established Tourism Indonesia Mart and Expo (TIME), and the continued EU ban on Indonesian carriers.
ITTF will take place in Jakarta from September 11 to 14, and will comprise a one-day B2B event and three-day consumer fair for domestic and outbound travel.
Garuda Indonesia has been appointed official carrier and, according to ITTF executive committee chairman, Mr Ben Sukma, the airline has pledged to bring buyers from each of the eight countries it flies to. Other Indonesian carriers, such as Lion Air and Batavia Air, have also shown support to the event, Mr Sukma said.
ITTF is targeting 175 sellers and the same number of buyers, while the fair targets 300 exhibitors with 10,000 to 15,000 consumer visitors a day. |
