PHNOM PENH Cambodia Angkor Air signed, late last week, a Memorandum of Understanding with Jin Air, a South Korea airline, to establish a commercial partnership.
According to the MoU, both airlines will cooperate on routes development and provide support in facilities, equipment and information.
Details of the formal contracts, including flight route connections will be discussed later, the airline said in a statement. It will probably involve codeshare flights.
The MoU was signed about 47 days after Cambodia Angkor Air launched direct flight between Phnom Penh and Incheon (Seoul).
Presently, the airline (CAAir) operates four flights weekly using an Airbus 321 on the route.
The MoU will lead the way for an interline agreement and more detail cooperation to connect flights and offer ground service support.
Eventually it will involve codeshare flights with the issue of a single ticket that combines travel on Cambodia Angkor Air and Jin Air with connecting domestic and international flights.
Following the MoU, CAAir will improve its inflight service to meet the same standard of Jin Air and enhance the flight safety through the exchange of information, material, facilities and equipment support provided by the Korean airline.
