A luxurious 34-storey mixed-use development mansion, Top King Building is poised to become the new icon of the Tuol Kork neighbourhood come October 2016. Conceptualised by multi-award winning Taiwanese artist-cum-architect Chang Hui Jen, the masterpiece sits on a unique 2,610 square metre plot steeped in polished grandeur, with panoramic floor-to-ceiling glass windows offering captivating views of the burgeoning city of Phnom Penh.

“I wish to raise the quality of housing in Cambodia,” Chang, also General Manager of Taiwan-based developer Top Team International Development Co. Ltd., said.

And indeed, Top King Building may very well be the epitome of luxury living and working.

With its fourth to 13th floor dedicated to office space and the 15th to 33rd to residences, the mansion block is the first in the capital to embrace smart technology, promising to surpass even your most demanding expectations with its emphasis on contemporary living.

“When you swipe your card to enter the apartment, it will tell you [via voice recording] that there is a letter you haven’t collected,” Chang said as example of how Internet of Things (IoT) will be adopted.

The mansion block boasts a sleek and modern design that combines art, sculpture and cultural elements into a masterpiece, radically redefining the meaning of architecture. Fringed by balconies made of granite with stainless steel and varnished metal grille, the exterior of the mansion block is more than just a feast for the eyes.

“I experimented with more than ten different designs to slice the otherwise plain-looking exterior before coming up with this,” Chang said. “One night, I had a eureka moment and realised why the design appealed so much to me.”

“There is a password for success and wealth in it,” he continued, adding that the two upward rising bars signify the two criteria necessary for any individual or corporation to succeed - competitiveness and efficiency.

“When both [competitiveness and efficiency] increase, you form a letter V, for Victory! And when you combine the bars and the letter V, you form a letter M, for Money,” he explained, with reference to a picture of the mansion’s exterior.

Specially designed to meet international standards, the 8.8 metres by 12.8 metres office unit - excluding a balcony spanning 1.2 metres - offers optimal levels of individual customisation, giving owners free rein to segment and even combine units.

Double-heat insulation and sound-proof airtight windows complete the perfect sanctuary in the heart of the city. Luxurious public amenities nestle amid the building, including a high-rise fully furnished gym, a sky lounge, a Western buffet banquet hall, and the highest infinity edge pool in T.K. Avenue.

“Anyone who lives here will succeed, and any corporation that establishes its office here will make profits,” Chang quipped.
