Agriculture Minister Veng Sakhon has asked the Asian Development Bank to consider new programs to help Cambodia’s agriculture sector with crop zoning and climate change projects.
On Tuesday, Mr Sakhon met Jiangfeng Zhang, director of the environment, natural resources, and agriculture division for ADB in Southeast Asia.
He said two projects would be important in attracting investment and enhancing management and development of crops and researching new crops that were resilient to climate change.
The remark was made ahead of the end of the existing project supported by ADB.
This has run from 2014 and finishes at the end of this year. ADB officers are planning new projects to continue to help Cambodia’s agricultural sector from 2019 to 2021.
