Enrollment of the fourth Cambodia ICT Awards, for innovative information communications and technology achievements, has opened. Application will close on May 21.
The awards are organised by the National Institute of Posts and Telecoms and ICT (NIPTICT) of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunication, with the event to be held in June.
Applicants can be private companies, start-ups, NGOs or public service institutions. Creative and innovative projects from private companies, start-ups, NGOs and public service institutions are invited to apply.
Launched in 2015, the awards aim to encourage and promote outstanding products and projects in Cambodia.
NIPTICT president Seng Sopheap said yesterday that innovation can come from very different places. This was why there were different categories, allowing young start-ups, private companies, but also public initiatives and NGOs to showcase their creativity.
“Candidates can apply in six different categories including start-up company, digital content, private sector, corporate social responsibility, public sector and research and development,” Mr Sopheap said.
He said that after the first round of selection, shortlisted applicants will be selected to present their projects in front of the jury, composed of business, government officials, civil society and ICT industry representatives for the semi-final round.
“Twelve applicants from different categories will be selected for the final round,” he said.
“The projects will be judged based on their creativity, the benefits brought to society, quality and reliability of the product, and technologies involved in the project,”
“One winner will be awarded per category, among which the three final winners will be selected during the final ceremony on June 15,” Mr Sopheap said.
