AirAsia launches its “City Transfer Service” that will allow travellers to combine flights to key airports with overland transport to nearby tourist destinations.
To begin with the airline will offer a service from Bangkok Don Mueang Airport to Phitsanulok with an overland transfer to Sukhothai by bus or from Bangkok Don Mueang Airport to Chiang Mai and then overland to Pai.
Thai AirAsia CEO, Tassapon Bijleveld, said AirAsia has set its sights on building a convenient travel network to serve destinations that are close to cities where it flies.
“In a single booking, travellers can choose their entire travel path and make one convenient single payment. The service offers great value for both local travellers and foreign visitors who want to travel throughout Thailand during the year-end holiday period.”
The new fares start from Bt940 for Bangkok-Sukhothai and Bt1,265 for Bangkok-Pai, inclusive of flight, overland transfer and airport tax and fees.
Bookings must be made by 22 December for travel 20 December and 31 March 2014.
Meanwhile, passengers from Chiang Mai can enjoy a similar overland service to Lanta as an extension of the airline’s flight to Krabi.
The airline offers shuttle van and ferry connections to Samui, Phangan, Phi Phi, Lipe, Ngai, Yao Noi and Lanta.
