Hong Kong Airlines will launch a three weekly service between Hong Kong and Ho Chi Minh City, 17 March.
Using Airbus A320s, the new route will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Hong Kong Airlines’ commercial director, Li Dian Chun, told local media that the airline believes the route will create more tourist traffic to Ho Chi Minh City.
“The new service marks an important milestone in our development of the Vietnamese market, after we opened our first route to Hanoi in 2010.”
The flights, HX534, will depart Hong Kong at 1220 and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 1355.
The return flight, HX535, will depart the city at 1500 and arrive Hong Kong at 1830. All are local times.
The new route will bring the carrier’s weekly flight total in Vietnam to 10, including its daily flight to Hanoi.
