Thai airports offer free Wi-Fi

Airline passengers can now access free Wi-Fi at airports managed by Thailand’s Airports of Thailand since 1 March.
The new service is up and running at all six airports under AoT management, the group’s chairman Sitha Tiwaree told Thailand’s National News Bureau.
Free Wi-Fi is available at Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Chiang Mai, Mae Fah Laung Chiang Rai, Phuket and Hat Yai airports.
Passenger traffic across all six airports reached 86 million in 2013.
The Ministry of Transport had earlier called on airports to offer free Wi-Fi, to bring them up to international standards.
AoT had offered Wi-Fi in departure halls, but registration was complicated, the broadband speed poor and the free use time insufficient for most travellers.
This time round AoT recruited True Corporation to provide free Wi-Fi under the name “AOT Free WIFI by True Move H”.
To log into free Wi-Fi, passengers must choose AOT Free Wi-Fi by TrueMove H and register a username and password with their Thai ID number or passport number (foreigners).
They get two hours use daily at a broadband speed of 10 Mbps.
