Asian Wings promotes Chiang Mai

Asian Wings Airways will promote its first regional route connecting Thailand’s Chiang Mai and Myanmar’s Mandalay at the upcoming Thailand Travel Mart Plus 2014, 4 to 6 June.
The airline marketing department told TTR Weekly by email that for the upcoming B2B event, the airline wants to promote its Mandalay- Chiang Mai-Mandalay direct flight.
The direct flight Mandalay-Chiang Mai launched, late January, this year, aims to serve travel demand between the two cities.
According to the airline summer schedule (1 May to 30 September 2014), the flight operates on Wednesday and Saturday.
Flight from Chiang Mai will depart 1235 and arrive Mandalay at 1315. The return flight from Mandalay will depart 1000 and arrive Chiang Mai at 1140. All times are local.
“In other developments, we also want to introduce Chiang Mai-Nyaung Oo-Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai- Heho- Chiang Mai and Chiang Mai- Thandwe-Chiang Mai with a transit stop in Mandalay.”
The airline focuses on international travellers and the Thai market hoping for a 70% to 30% balance between the two markets during the high season.
TTM gives the airline the opportunity to expand further into Thailand market.
Asian Wings Airways started flight 27 January 2011. It is a private commercial airline based at Yangon International Airport, Myanmar.
Currently operating as a domestic airline, Asian Wings offers flights to all major tourist destinations in Myanmar from Yangon to Mandalay, Nyaung U (Bagan), Heho, Tachileik, Lashio, Monywa, Homalin, Naypyitaw, Myitkyina, Bhamo and Putao.
The airline service to Chiang Mai was the first regional destination. In the very near future, Asian Wings Airways will extend to other destinations first in the Mekong Region.
