VFS adds visa servie in Hanoi

HANOI, 23 June 2014: The Swedish Embassy in Hanoi has launched a new visa application service in Vietnam supplied by VFS Global.
VFS Global introduced the service, last Tuesday, that will handle all visa applications for a visit to Sweden.
Visa applicants present their passport and applications in person to VFS Global at its offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. They are not allowed to use a third party or send their application by mail to the service provider.
It will take about 15 days before they can gain approval and receive their passport.
Sweden ambassador, Camilla Mellander, said the cooperation with VFS is a step in the right direction.
“With VFS offices in Vietnam’s biggest cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh, it will provide an opportunity and more accessible service for visa applicants to Sweden.”
It also saves substantial costs for the embassy and provides a lucrative revenue channel for VFS, after it pays a portion of the non-refundable fee to the Swedish foreign ministry.
VFS will handle telephone and email enquiries and provide an appointment booking service for all visa applicants.
