BANGKOK Nok Air took delivery of its first Q400 NextGen turboprop from Bombardier’s facility in Toronto, Canada, where the aircraft was manufactured.
The Q400 NextGen has 86 seats and is the first of its version to be flown in Thailand.
Nok Air CEO, Patee Sarasin said: “It will enable us to serve more passengers comfortably and conveniently, as well as expand to new destinations profitably.”
The manufacturer claims the aircraft has the lowest seat-mile cost in the short-haul aircraft market.
Established in 2004, Nok Air operates from Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport with a fleet of 16 Boeing 737-800s and two ATR 72-500s serving 24 domestic and one international routes.
Nok Air has orders for six Bombardier Q400s and seven Boeing 737-800s and eight Boeing 737 Max aircraft.
