BANGKOK  Airports of Thailand projects daily flights will grow by 7.5% and passengers using its six airports by 11.95% from this November to March next year.
AoT acting president, Nirandra Theeranatsin, said starting at the end of October through to March there was a substantial surge in airport use.
AoT expects daily flights at all six airports to reach 1,876 flights from the current 1,745, while daily passengers are projected to reach 283,020 from 252,800 currently.
inside no 7Flights to Suvarnabhumi Airport should increase to 826 flights per day from the current 780 flights. Of that, 659 flights will be international and 167 domestic.
Suvarnabhumi should handle 137,800 passengers per day, this peak season, compared to 122,600 passenger movements at present. Of that, 117,100 will be international passengers and 20,700 domestic passengers.
Don Mueang Airport will handle 526 flights daily, up from 515 flights. The daily passenger numbers will rise from 68,500 to 71,200 (21,100 international passengers and 50,100 domestic).
Chiang Mai Airport should handle 180 flights daily up from 155 flights (36 international and 144 domestic). Daily passenger arrivals could reach 22,700 from the current 18,400 (4,300 international and 18,400 domestic).
Chiang Ra’s airport will increase from 30 to 35 daily flights (two international and 33 domestic) while passengers will reach 4,600 a day up from the current 3,800 (100 international and 4,500 domestic).
Phuket Airport will also see an increase in daily flights from 200 to 233 (121 international flights and 112 domestic flights). Passengers will increase to 36,100 a day from 29,900. Of that, 20,100 will be international passengers and 16,000 domestic passengers.
Hat Yai Airport will handle 76 flights daily up from the current 65 flights (seven international and 69 domestic), while the number of passengers will reach 10,620 daily, up from 9,600. Of that, 820 will be international passengers and 9,800 domestic passengers.
