Vietjet inks deal with Indian airline

SINGAPORE  Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company, trading as Vietjet, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with India’s Air Costa.
It formalises a strategic alliance to explore opportunities in aviation between Vietnam and India.
The official signing ceremony took place, 27 October, and was witnessed by Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India and Nguyen Tan Dung, Prime Minister of Vietnam as well as heads of delegations from the two airlines.
Inside4The airline made the announcement on its cooperation with Air Costa on the sidelines of ITB Asia. It was attending the show for the first time, offering discount fares to show delegates, an unusual tactic at a B2B fair.
Most of the deal were ex-Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City or Danang offering a 50% discount on as many as 500 tickets.
There were also lucky draws on free tickets to Ho Chi Minh City and Danang.
The airline flies to 21 destinations in Vietnam and to neighbouring countries. Over the next two years, it plans to add services to Taiwan and Cambodia
Vietjet has also signed a tripartite partnership with Thailand-based Angel & Fairy Travel and South-East Asia University, enabling Vietjet Thailand to operate flights connecting Vietnam, Thailand and India, which is expected to commence in December 2014.
These agreements will pave the way for Vietjet to begin operations in India and build a network across Asia. Vietjet currently operates 23 domestic and international routes offering more than 770 flights per week. This includes flights to international destinations; Singapore, Bangkok (Thailand) and Seoul (South Korea).
