BANGKOK  Bangkok Airways and Garuda Indonesia roll out codeshare flights, 15 December, on selected routes.
Sales on the codeshare flights started ahead of the actual launch of services 15 December.
The new partnership will offer passengers of Garuda Indonesia seamless connections with Bangkok Airways’ flights to Thailand’s top holiday destinations.
Codeshare flights include: Samui, Lampang, Phuket, Udon Thani, Krabi, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phnom Penh, Luang Prabang and Dhaka.
inside no 7Bangkok Airways passengers will be able to connect with Garuda Indonesia’s flights from Bangkok to Jakarta. Other codeshare flights operate between Singapore and Jakarta, Jakarta- Denpasar Bali, Jakarta- Yogyakarta, Jakarta- Semarang, Jakarta- Surabaya and Jakarta- Ujung Pandang.
Bangkok Airways’ senior vice president – network management, Peter Wiesner, commented: “With the codeshare agreement passengers benefit from the networks of both airlines for travel between Thailand and Indonesia with ideal connectivity and increase travel flexibility. Besides, codeshare flights via Bangkok and Jakarta will be able to reach domestic and International points of each country.”
Garuda Indonesia EVP sales and marketing, Erik Meijer added: “We are pleased to announce this partnership with Bangkok Airways, which extends our network even further in Southeast Asia. Thailand is an important market for Indonesia and through this partnership we can offer more travel options for passengers travelling between the two countries. At the same time, the agreement is expected to boost trade and tourism activities by making Indonesia much more accessible for Thai visitors.”
