Emirates will launch a new daily flight to Bali this summer.

Commencing on 3 June 2015, the airline will fly direct to Indonesia’s ‘Island of the Gods’ using a two-class Boeing 777 aircraft.

“Bali is a significantly important market for Emirates. There is high interest in Bali from across our network, specifically in the leisure segment,” said Thierry Antinori, Emirates’ executive vice president & chief commercial officer.

“We are pleased to be able to offer the Emirates product on a daily basis, connecting passengers in Bali to Dubai and to more than 80 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas, via one convenient stop in Dubai.

“The new service will greatly increase convenience, choice, and consistency of travel experience for consumers who currently have to travel via multiple stops, or via other points in Indonesia to reach Bali,” he added.

Bali welcomed 3.7 million international visitors last year and the new service is likely to have a significant impact on arrivals. It will add almost 3,000 inbound seats per week to the island, or more than 150,000 per year. The launch follows the start of Qatar Airways’ direct flights to Bali, which commenced in July 2014.

Emirates’ new daily service to Bali will operate as flight EK398, departing Dubai International Airport at 0820 and arriving at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport at 2140 the same day. The return flight, EK399, will then leave Denpasar at 2340 and arrive back in Dubai at 0500 the following day.

All flights will be operated using the two-class version of Emirates’ B777-300ER aircraft, which features 42 seats in business class and 385 in economy.

Emirates first launched flights to Indonesia in 1992, initially with three weekly flights to Jakarta via Singapore and Colombo. Since March 2013, the airline has been operating three direct daily between Dubai and Jakarta using a B777 aircraft.
