Qatar strengthens Asian connections

DOHA, QATAR Qatar Airways will expand its codeshare agreements with both Cathay Pacific and Japan Airlines, through its oneworld alliance membership.
Qatar Airways and Cathay Pacific first announced a codeshare agreement in April last year, shortly after Cathay Pacific started flights to Doha.
The new extended agreement offers Qatar Airways’ passengers more flexibility and a wider choice of flights when travelling to Australia, New Zealand, Korea and Japan via Cathay Pacific’s Hong Kong home-base.
It also includes new codeshare routes between Doha – Muscat and Doha – São Paulo.
inside no 5Qatar Airways has also added 24 new domestic codeshare routes with oneworld member Japan Airlines.
Qatar Airways serves three destinations in Japan from its hub in Doha to Osaka, Tokyo Haneda and Tokyo Narita.
The 24 new codeshares with Japan Airlines are Tokyo Haneda to Kagoshima, Hiroshima, Kumamoto, Kita Kyushu, Okayama, Nagasaki, Matsuyama, Komatsu, Takamatsu, Oita, Hakodate, Kochi, Tokushima, Akita, Miyazaki, Ube, Izumo, Aomori, Asahikawa, Obihiro, Amami O Shima, Memambetsu, Kushiro and Misawa.
Prior to the new agreement Qatar had 10 codeshare routes with JAL.
Qatar Airways Group became a member of the alliance in October 2013.
