China Eastern Airlines will increase the number of seats it offers on its Shanghai-Toronto route in the coming months, with the deployment of a larger aircraft and the addition of more flights.
Effective this month, the airline has upgraded its Toronto service to its newest long-haul aircraft, the Boeing 777-300ER.
First introduced in September last year, the 316-seat, three-class B777-300ER comes equipped with six private suites in first class, 52 flat-bed seats in business class, all with aisle access, and 258 seats in economy.
Currently China Eastern operates three weekly flights direct between Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport and Toronto Pearson International Airport, with services departing China every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. But from 10 June 2015, the airline will start offering daily flights on the route.
Toronto will become the third North American destination to welcome China Eastern’s new B777 aircraft, following New York and Los Angeles. So far, the airline has taken delivery of five out of 20 of the new long-haul jets.
