SINGAPORE SilkAir, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, introduced its flight to Cairns, Saturday, the second Australian city in its route network, after Darwin.
The addition of Cairns increases SiklAir’s destinations to 49 in 12 countries.
The flight departs at 0140 from Changi Airport and arrives at Cairns International Airport at 1025. The return flight departs at 1155 and departs at 1750
Flights to Cairns operate three times weekly on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, through a circular routing with Darwin. The Saturday flights is nonstop to Cairns, but returns to Singapore via Darwin. The Monday and Thursday flights will fly to Cairns via Darwin and then return to Singapore nonstop.
inside no 6SilkAir together with parent company Singapore Airlines, now offers 121 services weekly to seven points in Australia; Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.
The Cairns service uses a Boeing 737-800 configured with business and economy cabins.
Located in Queensland, Cairns is home to two of the world’s greatest natural wonders: the UNESCO listed Great Barrier Reef and 170 million years old Daintree rainforest. The destination is famous for its eco-lodges white water rafting or diving, skydiving and zip-lining.
