HONG KONG - Korean Air, the flagship carrier of South Korea, has announced a new codeshare agreement with GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes under the condition of Brazil government approval. The codeshare agreement will start from June 11th offering greater convenience and choice to passengers travelling through Sao Paulo to 16 other cities within Brazil such as Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia or Manaus.

Korean Air currently operates an A330 aircraft from Incheon South Korea, to Sao Paulo Brazil three times a week. The flight departs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Incheon and every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from Sao Paulo.

A codeshare is an aviation business partnership through which a flight operated by one airline, is jointly marketed by one or more other airlines. The purpose of a code share is to make air travel easier, by allowing passengers to travel across the networks of multiple airlines with a single reservation, in order to reach their final destination.

Korean Air currently has code share partnerships with 33 airlines on 219 routes worldwide, including Air France, AeroMexico and China Southern Airlines. Korean Air will continue to expand opportunities for codeshare partnerships to provide the most convenient schedules for its passengers.
