Eurowings, Lufthansa’s new long-haul low-cost airline, has welcomed its first twin-aisle aircraft ahead of the launch of flights later this year.

The Airbus A330-200 aircraft was painted with the new Eurowings livery in Taiwan before flying back to Germany where it will be based at Cologne Bonn Airport. A second A330 is due to arrive in the next few weeks.

Eurowings will launch the aircraft on 2 November 2015, initially on the route to Varadero, Cuba.

The airline’s full 2015-16 winter schedule will include six long-haul routes, connecting Cologne Bonn Airport with Varadero, Punta Cana and Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, Phuket and Bangkok in Thailand, and Dubai.

Eurowings flights will be operated by SunExpress Germany, a joint venture between Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines.
