AoT reports positive July traffic

BANGKOK  Airports of Thailand reports July data showed increases in both aircraft movements and passengers at the six airports under its management.
AoT reported, Tuesday, that all of its supervised airports served 9,272,962 passengers up 33.69% from 6,936,275 during the same month last year.
The overall airports’ aircraft movements also increased by 27.06% from 60,665 to 47,745.
During the first seven months of the year, the country’s main gateway, Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airpor, welcomed 31.25 million passengers followed by Don Mueang with 17.00 million and Phuket 7.47 million. Chiang Mai Airport handled 4.75 million passengers.
July performance highlights
Suvarnabhumi Airport registered an increase of 23.73% in international aircraft movements from 17,124 to 21,188, while domestic movements slightly up 4.17% from 5,489 to 5,718 movements.
inside no 1International passenger traffic increased 31.46% from 2,865,014 to 3,766,323, while domestic passengers increased 8.49% from 678,969 to 736,626. Overall, it accounted for a 27.06% increase in passengers from 3,543,983 to 4,502,949.
The second aviation gateway, Don Mueang Airport recorded a 57.31% increase of international aircraft movements from 3,563 to 5,605. Domestic movementd posted a 41.81% improvement from 9,226 to 13,083.
International passenger traffic increased 72.83% from 463,233 to 800,620, while domestic passengers increased 44.68% from 1,228,504 to 1,777,413.
Chiang Mai International Airport continued to show growth in July. Both international and domestic aircraft movements registered double-digit increases of 46.80% (921 to 1,352) and 33.36% (2,926 to 3,902).
International passenger traffic grew 63.05% from 100,029 to 163,097, while domestic traffic gained 32.05% from 412,766 to 545,062.
Phuket International Airport registered an increase of 15.44% in international aircraft movements from 3,024 to 3,491, while domestic aircraft movements improved 19.95% from 2,807 to 3,367.
International passenger traffic increased 23.59% from 442,353 to 546,682, while domestic improved 34.63% from 368,892 to 496,638.
Chiang Rai International Airport reported an increase in aircraft movements of 25.89% from 784 to 987. Passenger traffic grew 32.15% from 103,677 to 137,004.
Hat Yai International Airport reported aircraft movements increased 3.84% from 1,881 to 1,972 in July. Meanwhile, overall passenger traffic registered an11.24% growth from 272,838 to 303,497 passengers.
