Vietnam eases duty-free rules

HANOI Vietnam’s Prime Minister, Nguyen Tan Dung, approves new regulation for airline passengers to be able to purchase duty-free goods on international flights bound for Vietnam effective 1 November.
Tuoi Tre news reported the concession will take effect November, when a new tax-free shopping regulation becomes law that gives Vietnam-based airlines the same freedom to sell duty-free goods as applies to international airlines.
inside no 3The new rule applies to Vietnamese airlines flying international routes to Vietnam.
The current rule allows all airlines flying from Vietnam to sell duty-free goods, but the new rule extends duty-free sales to both inbound and outbound flights for airlines owned and operated out of Vietnam.
