Ceremony for the launch of Air China's Beijing-Auckland service held in Beijing

BEIJING - At a press conference held at Terminal 3 of Beijing Capital International Airport on December 9, 2015, Air China announced that it would start Beijing-Auckland nonstop service on December 10.

In 2015, Air China has ramped up its efforts to expand its global reach. The new Beijing - Auckland service is part of Air China's continuous move to expand its presence in Oceania. On this route, by strategic partnership, Air China and Air New Zealand will cooperate in terms of international operations, networks and capacity. In 2015, China has become the largest market of exports and source country of imports for New Zealand. Meanwhile, New Zealand has become the most appealing destination for Chinese tourists. By the end of Oct. 2015, Chinese tourists visiting New Zealand increased by 34.8%. When it comes to New Zealand as a destination, Air China and New Zealand will not only unlock the potentials of the tourism markets of Beijing, North China and Northeast China, but also solidify Air New Zealand's position in the regional markets of Shanghai and East China, offering more travel options to Chinese travellers to New Zealand.

Mr. Wang Mingyuan, Senior Vice President of Air China indicated that exchanges between China and New Zealand have been growing rapidly in recent years. The new Beijing-Auckland service will offer more efficient, convenient and affordable flight options for business and leisure travelers between Air China and New Zealand. Air China and Air New Zealand will work together more closely to offer a more convenient air bridge for travelers.

The inbound flight departs from Auckland at 20:00 and arrives in Beijing at 04:30.
