Hong Kong HK Express has started a new twice weekly service between Hong Kong and Yangon.
The inaugural flight landed in Yango, the commercial capital of Myanmar, 1 September.
“HK Express is dedicated to developing a more connected Asia with affordable flights, new routes and convenient services,” said HK Express director and CEO Andrew Cowen, during the welcome ceremony in Yangon.
The airline is embarking on expansion in the ASEAN region and intends to start its first twice-weekly service to Chiang Rai this November.
Yangon Aerodrome Company Limited is handling the airline’s ground services at Yangon International Airport.
To support the launch, HK Express offered a 50% discount on the new route for bookings made over the weekend for travel through to 13 July 2017.
