Emirates rejigs New Zealand service

BANGKOK Emirates will start a new daily service, 30 October, from Bangkok to Auckland, via Sydney.

Effective 30 October, EK418 will depart Bangkok at 1930, and will arrive in Auckland at 1555, the next day, after a short stop in Sydney.

The return flight, EK419, will depart Auckland at 1630, make a stop in Sydney at 1755, before arriving in Bangkok at 0110 the next morning. The service will then continue to Dubai, arriving at 0645.

Currently the service flies from Dubai to Christchurch, via Bangkok and Sydney.

Sydney and Auckland are popular destinations for Thai students as well as leisure travellers.

Emirates has an extensive codeshare agreement with Bangkok Airways that connects passengers with the latter’s services to 14 destinations in Southeast Asia, including eight destinations in domestic Thailand.

Domestic travellers will be able to fly from cities served by Bangkok Airways and connect with the service to Sydney and Auckland.

Emirates is the only airline offering year-round scheduled A380 services to and from New Zealand.
