Jetstar Pacific expands routes

HANOI Jetstar Pacific will open four new routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Taipei to tap to the Northeast Asia market.

Local media reported the Ho Chi Minh City – Hong Kong route will start, 18 November, with four flights per week.

The Hanoi – Guangzhou route will start 1 December with a daily flight.

inside no 4Scheduled to launch, 2 December, the Ho Chi Minh – Guangzhou route will operate with five flights per week and the Danang – Taipei route with three flights per week.

All services use A320 aircraft.

The airline will be the only operator on the Danang-Taipei Taoyuan route. It will compete with China Southern Airlines and Vietnam Airlines on the Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Guangzhou routes.

For the Ho Chi Minh City-Hong Kong route, it will compete with Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong Airlines, United Airlines, and Vietnam Airlines.

Jetstar Pacific general director, Le Hong Ha, was quoted saying Northeast Asia is a potential tourism market for the country.

“The opening of the routes will provide more opportunities for travellers to explore the region.”

Jetstar Pacific is a member of Jetstar Group, one of Asia Pacific’s largest low-budget airlines. It is operating 105 Airbus A320s on about 4,000 flights to 75 destinations in 17 countries and territories.
