BANGKOK Bangkok Airways reports it will increase its Danang flights to daily effective 2 February.
The increase comes less than a year after it introduced a Bangkok-Danang flight.
The current service operators four times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday using a 138-seat Airbus A319.
The service to Vietnam’s third largest city was introduced in May last year.
At the time airline president, Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth, identified Danang as “one of our strategic flying hubs in the Southeast Asia”.
The port city is the gateway to two World Heritage sites; the Imperial capital of Hue and the ancient trading port of Hoi An.
Danang is also a major resort destination with competition golf courses and five star resorts located on some of Vietnam’s most popular beaches.
Bangkok Airways’ success is mainly attributed to its codeshare agreements with international airlines that feed traffic to the airline’s Suvarnabhumi hub.
The outbound flight PG947 departs Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) at 1100 and arrives Danang International Airport at 1240. The inbound flight PG948 departs Danang Airport at 1340 and arrives Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) at 1520.
