Italian air force retires Atlantic and introduces P-72A

Italian Air force is retiring its Breguet P-1150 Atlantic maritime patrol aircraft which has been in service for the last 45 years and 250,000 flight hours. A ceremony was held to commemorate this event, which was attended by Italian Air Force, Italian Navy and neighboring authorities.

In this event new P-72A aircraft which is replacing the Atlantic. The P-72A is the modification of the civilian ATR-600 produced by Leonardo. The modification is done by introducing specific equipment and sensors to carry out the military tasks.
