New Regional Directors at PATA

BANGKOK, Thailand - The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has promoted Ben Montgomery to PATA Regional Director - Greater Mekong. It has also appointed Ivy Chee as Regional Director - East Asia, effective June 16. Both Montgomery and Chee will play the leading role in PATA Chapter coordination in their respective areas.

As Regional Director - Greater Mekong, Ben Montgomery, is responsible for promoting PATA's progressive Next Gen range of membership benefits to travel and tourism industry companies and organisations. She will be tasked with engineering opportunities for the Association and its members in the five destinations of the Greater Mekong Region: Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. Her Mekong responsibilities have been added to her existing role of PATA Chapter development.

A Thai national, Montgomery previously worked for international five-star hotels in Bangkok such as Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Shangri-La and The Oriental Hotel, in sales and marketing. Ivy Chee is responsible for membership development for East Asia as Regional Director - East Asia. Chee is also PATA Chapter Coordinator for Brunei, Indonesia, Japan, Korea (ROK), Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore.

Before joining PATA, Chee was Regional Senior Business Development Manager at online travel aggregator Wego Pte Ltd in Singapore and Digital Ad Sales Manager at Singapore Press Holdings. Chee also worked with clients such as Malaysia Airlines, Air Asia, IHG, Starwood, Hilton, Accor Hospitality, American Express, Tourism New Zealand and Tourism Western Australia. She is Malaysian who speaks English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Malay and basic Japanese. She is a Bachelor of Arts graduate in professional communications from RMIT University Melbourne and has diplomas in Mass Communications from the Melbourne Institute of Business Technology and Taylor's College. She is also a Taekwondo black belt.

Commenting on the promotions, PATA CEO Martin J Craigs said: "Ben and Ivy are the key contacts and liaison for PATA members in different regions in Asia. They have strong connections with many Chapters around the globe. They will drive PATA's Next Gen philosophy across Asia."
