CHINA - It is said that a qualified applicant of a New Zealand working-holiday visa should be an 18-30 years old Chinese citizen with a minimum NZ $ 4200 deposit; the applicant should provide an IELTS certification with a minimum score 5.5; the applicant should provide at least a high school certification and finally, he or she needs to give a heath certification. With all these requirements met and after selection, the applicant will then have a one-year- valid visa for working and holiday in New Zealand.
Li Hu, Marketing Manager of New Zealand Tourism Bureau Greater China office, introduced that technically speaking, a working - holiday visa holder may engage in any work in New Zealand, but in accordance with the regulations, he or she cannot work for each employer more than three months, so this kind of young people are more likely to do some temporary jobs.
New Zealand working - holiday visas are essentially different from holiday visas, because the holders of the latter are not allowed to work, which makes the former more likely to be a working visa. Li Hu believes that the reason why regulations such as "no more than three months working for each employer” still exist is that the government do not want people to apply for a visa with "money" as their main purpose, but hope to encourage each applicant enjoy the beautiful scenery of New Zealand while working in the nation.
