More hotels in Jakarta and Manila for Accor

JAKARTA - Currently, 42 % of Accor Group’ s luxury/upscale hotels are located in Asia Pacific compared to 35% in Europe. The market share of Asia is then likely to increase as the continent continues to rip the benefits of economic growth all across the continent. Over 60% of the current projects in development will take place in Asia. Key countries include China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand but also increasingly Malaysia and the Philippines.
In Jakarta, Accor Asia Pacific is putting the final touch on its first Indonesia-centric brand, the Grand Mercure Maha Cipta. The 483-room hotel in Harmoni area is specifically conceived and designed to appeal to Indonesia’s huge domestic market. Maha Cipta will bring all the services that Indoensian clients might enjoy to get such as restaurants offering local food, Indonesia contemporary art exhibitions. The welcome of hotel guests will also be executed in bahasa Indonesia.
In Manila, Accor was until today only represented with property, the ageing –but still luxurious- Sofitel Manila Plaza, a hospitality monument to the Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos years. Two new properties will help strengthening Accor portfolio in the Philippines Capital. Set for launch in  first half-year 2014, the 150-room Mercure Manila Ortigas is located in the heart of the emerging central business district of Ortigas centre, and will offer meeting rooms, an all-day dining restaurant and gym. In the second half of 2014, the new Novotel Manila Araneta will become the only branded hotel in Cubao, Quezon City. It is due to opens its 401 rooms and suites in the second half year of 2014. The property will offer conference facilities including a 1,000m2 pillarless ballroom, F&B outlets, a swimming pool and gym.
