SYDNEY - Exhibition and Trade Fairs has announced the debut of The Travel Industry Exhibition, which will provide the ideal forum for suppliers to showcase their products to travel agents, wholesalers and other parts of the Australian travel distribution system.
The inaugural Travel Industry Exhibition will take place at Sydney’s Royal Hall of Industries on 18th and 19th July 2014, and will be co-located with the 2014 AFTA National Travel Industry Awards which are to be held at the adjacent Hordern Pavilion after the show closes on Saturday 19th July 2014.
The huge trade only event is expected to attract participation from across the industry, including airlines, destinations, travel agency groups, hoteliers, wholesalers, tour operators, technology providers, cruise lines, travel recruiters, industry organisations and more, giving attendees the perfect forum to meet key suppliers face to face. The Travel industry Exhibition is being organised in partnership with industry publication Travel Daily, with publisher Bruce Piper saying the show will be a great way for suppliers to engage with their distribution partners.
“The show is an opportunity for the whole industry to gather, network, share new information and provide updates on the latest product, destination and service offerings available,” Piper said.
Australian Federation of Travel Agents CEO Jayson Westbury said AFTA would engage with the exhibition, with participation including a dedicated booth showcasing the ongoing creation of the new AFTA Travel Accreditation Scheme (ATAS) and a ‘Best Stand’ category to be awarded at the show coming under the National Travel Industry Awards banner.
“This is a great initiative,” Westbury said, adding “I strongly urge the industry to get behind this event which will help reinforce relationships, boost networks and increase product knowledge across the Australian travel sector”.
Pascal Ibrahim, Portfolio Lead at ETF says “we are thrilled to be working with a fantastic line-up of partners, bringing together key stakeholders in the Australian travel industry under one roof for an inspiring event. The objective is to facilitate conversation between forward thinking travel suppliers and providers to enable long term relationships".
