“Kata Beach, a surf destination”

KATA - Kata beach is synonymous with surfing destination between May and October. Known for its punchy, fast and often bigger waves, Kata is one of Thailand’s best surf spots. For the Pro's or learners, surfing can now be learned and practiced by people of all ages, right at RE KA TA. 

The surf school is opened daily and operated by award winning surfer Jimmy Smith, who was born at Kata and is a local surfing legend. Hailing from New Zealand, Jimmy’s dad Chris was one of the first to surf the waves on Kata back when surfing was unheard of in Thailand. Jimmy is not only known as one of the best local surfers, he has also won the first place in Thailand Quiksilver Island Crown 2009. The school provides lessons for all levels as well as board rentals and courses.

Open to the public but with the exclusive aura of the Cote d’Azur, RE KA TA welcomes Phuket revelers to relax all day on plumped up loungers by the palm fringed crescent pool, or to float away on giant beanbags in the tranquil Andaman Sea. Its beachfront restaurant offers modern innovative cuisine with a strong focus on seafood while the spa is famous for the 4 hand massages and the Esthederm sun treatments.

RE KA TA Beach Club and Quiksilver are celebrating their partnership with an opening party at RE KA TA on Saturday, September 14th, 2013. The party will include a live reggae band, Djs, fire shows, beach side BBQ, lucky draws, and much more. The party begins after sunset and will go on until late.

RE KA TA Beach Club was designed by internationally-renowned Bali based architect Fredo Taffin and opened late December 2011 as part of award winning Boathouse Resort. The beachside restaurant commands one of Phuket’s most sensational waterside views and has already been recognized by inclusion in the Thailand Tatler’s Best Restaurants’ selection.
