SONEVA KIRI - Adding to existing clubs in Crete, Sicily, the Algarve, Cyprus, Val d’Isere and Courchevel 1650, leading luxury tour operator Scott Dunn will open a new ‘Intrepid Explorers Club’ at Soneva Kiri in Thailand in October. This will be Scott Dunn’s first Explorers Club outside Europe and will be run by three trained Scott Dunn staff that will be based at the property.

Scott Dunn’s qualified childcare experts, supported by local child carers, will run action-packed and fun-filled days. Learning about and making the most of the destination is a core part of the Explorers experience and Scott Dunn’s team will combine unforgettable experiences with the highest childcare standards. The Explorers Club will use a separate area for children from 12 months to 5 years while the over 5s will wonder at the Den, the world’s most jaw dropping tree house. Both spaces blend seamlessly into the local environment giving children unparalleled contact with this mesmerising environment. Activity programmes will combine indoor and outdoor and will feature water and land based sports, chocolate making and cooking, astrology, learning about Soneva’s sustainability programmes and crafts that reflect how the locals live.

Set on the lush tropical island of Koh Kood, Soneva Kiri combines unparalleled levels of service with cutting-edge eco-concepts and is considered one of the top resorts in Asia. Soneva Kiri’s 29 pool villas are set along white sand beachfront or on the hillside with outstanding views out to sea. The resort is ideal for families with a number of unique experiences on offer including dining in a tree pod that sits six metres above ground with service from an acrobatic waiter on a zip wire, wood fired tandoori ovens on the beach, an ice-cream parlor and a chocolate room. There is also a library, wine cellar, an epic outdoor cinema, tennis courts, fitness centre and spa which has 11 unique double treatment rooms offering treatments, activities and workshops.

The Soneva philosophy is based on SLOW LIFE (Sustainable-Local-Organic-Wellness-Learning-Inspiring-Fun-Experiences) and Intrepid Explorers will embrace this ethos by investing in the community with an extensive childcare training programme for local child carers and by ensuring that the toys, equipment and activities meet Soneva’s stringent standards of social and environmental responsibility.

Scott Dunn Explorers Clubs have surged in popularity due to the fantastic childcare and tailored activity programmes. They are not just somewhere to leave children for the day; they are environments where children make new friends, learn new skills and explore their imagination as they become inventors, artists, adventurers, sporting heroes and chefs.

In addition to the five Explorers Clubs in Europe that are located at Daios Cove in Crete, Pine Cliffs in the Algarve, Verdura in Sicily and Almyra and Anassa in Cyprus, Scott Dunn also has two Explorers Clubs in the Alps located in Val d’Isere and Courchevel 1650. At each Explorers Club the daily activity schedule includes elements of the local culture and children are encouraged to learn new skills through a variety of exciting and fun activities. Scott Dunn has also teamed up with Fiona Faulkner, leading children’s food expert and author of ’25 Foods Kids Hate and How to Get Them Eating 24’ at Daios Cove, Pine Cliffs and Verdura to design menus ensuring the healthiest possible mealtimes.
