August 2013 Asia Pacific pipeline

LONDON — The Asia Pacific hotel development pipeline comprises 1,829 hotels totalling 401,024 rooms, according to the August 2013 STR Global Construction Pipeline Report. The total active pipeline data includes projects in the In Construction, Final Planning and Planning stages but does not include projects in the Pre-Planning stage.

Among the markets in the region, Shanghai, China, reported the most rooms in the total active pipeline, with 10,907 rooms. Five other markets reported more than 5,000 rooms in the total active pipeline: Manila, Philippines (8,767 rooms); Jakarta, Indonesia (8,167 rooms); Bali, Indonesia (7,244 rooms); Tokyo, Japan (7,172 rooms); and Beijing, China (5,351 rooms).
