HONG KONG - This November marks a huge turning point in Philippine golf history as the Asian Tour partners with Resorts World Manila, the first one-stop, nonstop integrated lifestyle hub in the Philippines, to mount the country’s biggest golf tournament, the Resorts World Manila Masters.

The inaugural US$750,000 golf tournament, set to take place from November 14 to 17, promises to attract some of the biggest names in golf. With six Asian Tour titles among them, Angelo Que, Artemio Murakami, Juvic Pagunsan, and veteran star Frankie Minoza will once again represent the Philippines and try to win the cup on their home turf. These Filipino golf heroes also look to improve their standing on the Asian Tour’s Order of Merit, which was topped by Pagunsan back in 2011, making him the first Filipino to win the coveted title.

The Resorts World Manila Masters has also allotted 30 spots to be given to players from the ever-growing Philippine Golf Tour (PGT) with the aim of furthering local golf development. The tournament allows local players to earn Official World Golf Ranking points, providing opportunities for Filipino golfers to play their way to the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
