Anaconda Travel Sim launches trade campaign with 10% commission to pitch card to government and business clients

SYDNEY - New Australian business, Anaconda Travel Sim, has launched a campaign to encourage travel retailers to sell the low-cost Sim card to their globe-trotting government and business clients to help slash global roaming charges while overseas.

Anaconda Travel Sim Director, Bruce Hansen, said the new, pre-paid sim card, which offered roaming rates a fraction of those from major telcos and up to 20 per cent cheaper than competitor sim cards, was purpose-designed for the travel industry to onsell to business travellers as an extension of their service to customers.

The sales initiative by Anaconda Travel Sim follows the case of an Australian mining company that previously paid more than $400,000 a year on global roaming charges for its travelling executives but, after switching this year to Anaconda Travel Sim, now projects it will spend just $50,000 a year on global roaming for their employees’ phones – an 87 per cent saving.

“Travel retailers can earn thousands of dollars in extra commission and at the same time help their government and business clients drastically cut their mobile phone bills for overseas travel,” Mr Hansen said. “Many Governments departments and large companies – even travel companies themselves - accept high phone bills for overseas trips as part and parcel of business travel but it doesn’t have to be the case,” he said.

“Busy corporate travellers rightly see it as a hassle to find local sim cards or free Wi-Fi points when they arrive at their destination but inserting an Anaconda Travel Sim card into their phone before they go for all their calls and data roaming while away is as convenient and easy as checking into a flight.

“With call rates as low as 45 cents per minute from the US to Australia and data roaming charges as low as 38 cents per MB in some countries, the pay-as-you-go Anaconda Travel Sim can be used for low-cost global roaming in more than 200 countries and territories and companies can automatically top up the Sim card through a credit card or nominate a staff member to top up their employees’ cards as needed from the Anaconda website.

“The Australian mining company that is now using the Anaconda Travel Sim will now pay just one eighth of the global roaming charges it once paid and in this frugal, cost-cutting climate, that’s a very substantial saving to the bottom line for any business.”

Mr Hansen said Anaconda Travel Sim was launched this year to help business and leisure travellers avoid post-trip bill shock, saving them from huge roaming costs that can amount to thousands of dollars. “Anaconda Travel Sim offers business travellers and holidaymakers a reliable and very affordable way to stay connected while overseas,” he said.
