LUANG PRABANG - The 4th Luang Prabang Film Festival opens this weekend in Laos and runs 7-11 December. The festival's Official Travel Partner, Khiri Travel, will donate 40% of profits back to the festival. It is also making a cash donation to the charitable cultural event and is contributing the use of aminivan.
"Visitors watch great movies in the evening. During the day or in post-event trips we show them Luang Prabang and Laos during the day or in post-event trips," said Khiri Travel CEO, Willem Niemeijer.
As the official festival website says: "[Khiri Travel] has put together terrific and flexible packages for anyone interested in coming to the festival."
Khiri Travel will be well represented at the official opening party on 7 December.
The festival is free to attend. At the main outdoor venue, the festival expects audiences of over 1,000 people at some of the screenings. Guests sit on blue plastic chairs -- the symbol of the festival, which takes place at three reputable venues.
The Luang Prabang Film Festival is active year-round, producing workshops and educational film activities, arranging special screenings and events, acting as a resource for filmmaking in Laos, and operating the Lao Filmmakers Fund, which allows Lao artists to apply for grants to help make their film projects possible.
