DALIAN - Starting January 1, 2014, the Chinese cities of Shenyang and Dalian will launch a 72-hour visa-free stay policy to both destinations for travelers from 45 countries.

Shenyang is the capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning province, while Dalian, its provincial neighbor in the south, is known for its scenic views and seaside resorts. Shenyang and Dalian are the sixth and seventh cities in China to introduce the policy (following Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Chongqing).

Travelers from United States and 44 other countries will be able to take advantage of the new policy, which requires booked plane tickets to leave for a third country or region within 72 hours.

Dalian, known for its scenic views and seaside resorts, will be the 6th city to start 72-hour visa-free stay service for foreign travelers from 45 countries on Jan. 1, 2014.
