CPN confirms CentralFestival Hatyai grand opening on 14 December 2013

HAT YAI - Central Pattana Public Co., Ltd. (CPN) has confirmed the Grand Opening of its new shopping complex, “CentralFestival Hatyai”, its 23rd shopping complex with over 7.2 Billion Baht investment, which will mark a new phenomenon for retail industry of the south as the shopping mall is the first and largest shopping complex in Thailand’s southern region, located in business center and tourist city like Hatyai, Songkla.

The shopping complex is promised to be “the Most Luxury Lifestyle Shopping Complex in Southern Thailand”. CentralFestival Hatyai is constructed on 50 Rais of landplot, with a total area of 250,000 square meters (GFA). The shopping complex has innovative architectural design in the shape of crystal and reflection of light in prisms, combining with modern graphics. CentralFestival Hatyai will feature Central Department Store, Tops Market, PowerBuy, SuperSports, B2S, OfficeMate, Food Park and over 250 international and local brands as well as lifestyle dining restaurants and cafes. Talking about entertainment, there will be the first-time-in-the-South Sub Zero Ice Skate Club, Blu O RHTHM & Bowl, IMAX 4DX and 3D Cinema as well as world standard 8 cinemas of Hatyai Cineplex by Major Cineplex, and Fun Planet. The largest convention hall in the South is also available to respond to the expansion of MICE industry.

A grand opening is planned for CentralFestival Hatyai, followed by The Glitter of Happiness Music Party. Superstars like Nadech Kugimiya and Kaem The Star will be attending the grand opening while Katreeya English will be performing the first Aerial Acrobat Silk Loop Show in the South. Many actors and singers will also be at the grand opening, providing entertainment to customers and joining many exciting activities. A special double-promotion campaign will be held to enable customers to enjoy privileges of both the Grand Opening campaign and the year-end Joy to the World campaign simultaneously, with prizes worth over 37 million baht in total awaiting the lucky winners. The grand prizes of both campaigns are three All New MAZDA CX-5cars, worth a combined 3.6 million baht. The guest list also includes many Hat Yai’s local well-known figures and celebrities.

As Hat Yai is a very popular tourist destination in Songkhla province and is also the center of the Southern region, the design of CentralFestival Hatyai was inspired by the region’s rich natural environment. The building’s architecture is futuristic and draws inspiration from many famous tourist destinations in the South and the diversity of cultures and ethnicities, combined with an innovative and gorgeous design concept inspired by the of the shape of a crystal in perfect equilibrium, and light deviation and dispersion through a prism with modern graphic details. Hat Yai’s unique symbols will be there such as the Hat Yai Railway Junction, the famous Little Mermaid statue, the relaxing Coral Benches, the Octopus-shaped seats and a reproduction of the Songkhla Lake, the mobile diamond sculptures and the unique ‘Wong Duen’ kites.

As CPN has become part of Songkhla province, the company is committed to supporting various community services and has organized several CSR activities such as the CPN Thai Young Intellectual Cultivation Program at Mahidol School in the Sabayoi district of Songkhla province, the traffic signs program for the Municipality of Hat Yai to help tackle traffic problems in the city.
