Hong Kong Disneyland Resort showers guests with ‘Endless Fortune’ in The Happiest Chinese New Year Celebration

HONG KONG - Hong Kong Disneyland Resort is gearing up to host The Happiest Chinese New Year Celebration to welcome the Year of the Horse with an exciting line-up of endless luck-giving and seasonal entertainment.

This year, as the Resort showers “endless fortune” across a much larger footprint, a large, happy balloon in the shape of beloved Disney Character Mickey will fly over every corner of the enlarged Park to bring good fortune to everyone in the Year of the Horse. All seven themed lands will be immersed in the spirit of Chinese New Year, allowing guests to share happy moments and endless fortune during the celebrations between January 23rd and February 16th 2014.

Showering luck across seven themed lands

From their very first step into the Park at Main Street, U.S.A., guests will be bestowed with great fortune and luck by taking photos with the striking chromatic horse at Town Square.
Those visiting the Park’s three newest themed lands will receive various blessings – Lord Henry will invite guests into his home at Mystic Point, which is filled with fine art and antiquities, in the hope that guests’ homes will also be filled with treasures. As a land of fortune and gold, the quintessential mining town of Grizzly Gulch is a perfect spot for guests to enhance their wealth by riding Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars. In the oversized world of Toy Story Land, guests can expect to magnify their fortunes during playtime with a beloved cast of buddies.

Guests can immerse themselves in endless fortune in the other themed lands, from the exotic Adventureland, where the venture on the Jungle River Cruise brings joy and success for the year ahead, space-themed Tomorrowland, where luck extends from infinity and beyond, and Fantasyland, where fairy tales spring to life and dreams come true.

Suited for the Year of the Horse

Adding to the festive atmosphere, Mickey, Minnie and other beloved Disney friends will dress up in all-new and colorful attire to meet and greet guests and wish them a fortune-filled Year of the Horse. Guests may create lifelong memories by snapping pictures with Mickey and his festively attired friends.

Dining delights to tempt the palate

The Resort’s award-winning culinary team has designed a Chinese New Year menu, featuring traditional favorites and innovative new dishes to make any event extra-special during the happiest time of the year. New on the menu, ‘Lo Hei’ translates as Good Luck and Prosperity. This tasty addition will not only invite guests to savour a special meal for Chinese New Year, but will offer decorative Chinese New Year blessings.

There are plenty of additional Chinese New Year–themed dishes to be found throughout the park. Guests shouldn’t miss the opportunity to enjoy the themed delicacies offered in the Pot Set Menu at Adventureland’s River View Cafe. Alternatively, the delectable Chinese New Year Set menus offered by the Main Street Corner Cafe hosted by Coca-Cola® are ideal for guests to relax over some festive food.
