Sabah Tourism Board seizes ATF 2014

KUCHING - Sabah Tourism Board will return this year in full force at the Asian Tourism Forum from 20th – 23rd of January 2014 in Kuching joining in lieu with this annual event.

Several new products and services have been introduced since the previous ATF; the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre in Sandakan, Sepanggar Mari Mari Island, Borneo Reef World, Gaya Island Resort by YTL to note a few.

Sabah also welcomed the Star Cruise to its water late 2013. Tourists have the opportunity to experience a 1 night stay on board the Star Cruise Aquarius as part of their visit to Sabah.

Sabah is also proud that the Proboscis monkey (Nasalis Larvatus) has been selected as the mascot for the 2014 Visit Malaysia Campaign. The Proboscis is an endangered species, nevertheless, Sabah is still blessed with a good number of these endemics of Borneo that tourists are still able to frequently spot in several areas.

The first ATF was in held Malaysia back in 1981. The concept of the event which engages the B2B format, has proven its effectiveness. Buyers are able to treat the event as a one-stop access to the diverse products offered by the ASEAN countries and attain updates in regards to new offers and features.

This year, Kuching will be receiving about 1,600 delegates. The 500 international buyers who of which some have also gone on post familiarization trips to Sabah will resume their ATF program at the B2B session where they will have a range of about 500 exhibitors to choose from.
