Starting from July 2, the revived route, flying three times a week during peak season, will address the growing demand to visit the popular holiday destination in the domestic market as well as offering international visitors a seamless travel experience to the Island.

Phillipa Harrison, Hamilton Island’s General Manager Sales, said: “We are thrilled Qantas will once again be servicing Hamilton Island from Sydney. The Island has a strong Sydney guest base and we’re pleased these guests will now have additional flight options and increased accessibility to the beauty and attractions of Hamilton Island, the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef."

“The timing of this news has been impeccable, as the Island’s events calendar is soon to ramp up with Audi Hamilton Island Race Week in August, the Australian Ballet pas de deux in paradise in October and The Great Barrier Feast in November."

“As Australia’s premier island destination, we cater to a broad range of guests through our wide range of high-quality properties. From our award-winning luxury accommodation qualia and 4-bedroom Yacht Club Villas with Executive Concierge through to our affordable Palm Bungalows, the return of Qantas’ economy and business class fares not only delivers our guests greater convenience but also value-for-money,” continued Ms. Harrison.

The re-entry of Qantas will see the Island serviced by three different carriers – Qantas along with its sister airline Jetsar, and Virgin Australia.
