Sarawak hosts Asia Music Festival

First it was the award winning Rainforest World Music Festival with Sarawak’s traditional Sape, the boat-shaped lute that became the symbol of the festival, then it was the Borneo Jazz, bringing jazz from around the world to Sarawak. Coming up next Sarawak will host the Asia Music Festival this October.
Asia Music Festival, 3 to 4 October, is a two-day musical event featuring musicians from Asian countries namely from India, Korea, Indonesia, Brunei Philippines and Malaysia.
The objective is to attract Asia’s expatriate community working in neighbouring Brunei, the local Bruneians themselves, neighbours from Sabah and Peninsular Malaysia as well expatriates and locals in Indonesia, Singapore and the surrounding region. Like the other two music festivals hosted by Sarawak, the Asia Music festival should exude a carnival spirit and a high standard of family friendly entertainment similar to the Borneo Jazz Festival in Miri and the Rainforest World Music Festival in Kuching.
The Asia Music Festival is organised by the Sarawak Tourism Board as part of its policy to establish the state as a leader in hosting art, music and cultural event in ASEAN.
Tickets purchased online up to 2 October cost MYR25 per night. After 2 October, door sale price is MYR30. Visitors who buy online need to show a print out of their purchase confirmation at the gate ticket office.
