Cam Ranh Airport opened a tourism support centre to provide assistance to visitors last week.
The centre is located in the airport terminal and stocks brochures and maps of Nha Trang as well as providing tips on resorts and tourist atttractions.
Designed to assist travellers who do not have travel agency support when they arrive in the country, it will help to fill a gap in the airport’s services.
The centre was set up by the Khanh Hoa Tourism Information and Promotion Centre under an order from the Prime Minister. It opens daily from 0600 to 1400.
Starting 15 July, the centre will provide tourism support via a toll-free hotline, according to deputy director Luyen Manh Cuong.
The upcoming service is backed by military-run mobile network operator Viettel, he added.
Cam Ranh International Airport is the main airport serving Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa’s provincial capital, which is 30 km from the airport. The airport is 393 km northeast of Ho Chi Minh City.
Last year, about 1.5 million passengers used Cam Ranh Airport, which has a ceiling capacity of just 1.6 million passengers a year.
