BANGKOK Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau outlined its strategy for its fiscal year, October 2014 to September 2015, earlier this week, that will major on winning corporate meetings, incentives and large scale conventions.
TCEB president, Nopparat Maythaveekulchai, said TCEB’s market development plan for MICE business for fiscal year 2015 will promote the country as a prime regional destination in three areas: corporate meetings; incentives travel and international conventions.
TCEB recently launched its Meetings Bonus promotion to provide additional financial support ranging from THB100,000 to THB1 million for meetings and incentive travel groups of 200 to 1,000 delegates. They need to stay in Thailand for at least three nights. The promotion will end June 2015.
The bureau will continually attend IT&CM Asia, IT&CM China, IMEX America, IMEX, EIBTM, CIBTM and AIME, as well as arranging roadshows in seven strategic markets: China, India, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Russia, and the UK.
Networking activities will be held in nine target markets; Australia, South Korea, India, Germany, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Eastern Europe, Middle East, and South Africa.
TCEB will emphasise cooperation with Thai MICE entrepreneurs, including hotels, airlines, associations and chambers of commerce in the Philippines and Myanmar.
This year, Thailand should attract 888,210 MICE visitors, generating THB87,200 million MICE revenue for the Thai economy, with 225,748 delegates and THB25,654 million from corporate meetings; 234,191 delegates and THB16,895 million from incentive travel; and 264,874 delegates and THB31,586 million from international conventions.
