Matin Craigs
In an edited version the main points were:
“I have enjoyed working with you and wanted to privately advise of a significant personal decision in advance of a public announcement at our PTM in Cambodia on Thursday 18 September.
“After three enjoyable and challenging years as PATA CEO I will not seek a further three-year term.
“When I was introduced to PATA members in Delhi in September 2011, it was very clear PATA needed revitalisation with a next generation mind set. I have hugely enjoyed delivering that.
” I got particular satisfaction from moulding a new management team, redeveloping the HQ facility and delivering. PATA hub city, PATA mPOWER, PATA academy and PATA internships.
“Last year, for the first time in four years PATA declared a profit, after USD1 million of losses in 2010/2011. A formidable future is possible with strong membership support and good stewardship.
” I am pleased to confirm that Mario Hardy currently COO has agreed to become interim CEO from 1 November. Our chairman will keep you updated on future plans.
“I will complete special event commitments for PATA during November, including at the World Travel Mart (WTM) in London and our participation at the G20 Summit in Brisbane in 12 to 16 November.”
