BANGKOK If you check-in on the web, or through smart phones, Bangkok Airways will give you an extra 5 kg baggage allowance up to 15 October.
The offer is valid for all the airline’s flights both domestic and international.
Web Check-in is available from 24 hours up to 2 hours prior to departure time.
The airline offers passengers 20 kg free with any booking.
Passengers on international flights who have completed web check-in are required to present themselves at check-in counters at least 90 minutes prior to departure time to obtain a boarding pass and verification of travel documents needed for immigration and security clearance.
However, the web check-in function does not currently support iOS devices.
According to the airline’s information, Web Check-in is a www.bangkokair.com service that enables passengers to check in, choose a seat and issue boarding pass from the comfort of home or office. By using Web Check-in passengers will save time spent queuing at the airport.
However, this appears to conflict with the airline’s requirement for web-check passengers to be at the airport 90 minutes before a flight to obtain a boarding pass.
These small uncertainties unnerve some passengers who prefer the traditionl check-in. Not all passengers are web-check friendly, but the service is becoming more popular as it reduces the need to queue at crowded airports.
Exclusions are:
• Passengers who require medical / special assistance
• Unaccompanied minors
• Passengers travelling in a group of more than nine persons on the same reservation and PNR.
• Passengers whose ticket requires some addtional payment
• Passengers holding tickets with codeshare flight numbe (four digits). They have to go through a manual check-in.
